Duo Newphonium

The Duo Newphonium

consists of Klemens Vetter on the euphonium and Ekaterine Kintsurashvili on the piano. They have been making music together since 2020 and in the same year they won first prizes at the “Rising Stars Grand Prix” in Berlin and the “Grand Prize Virtuoso” in Bonn, both international competitions. The individual musical ability of Klemens and Ekaterine and their terrific feeling for the fine chamber music moments in their program lead to the unique sound of the duo.

Klemens Vetter grew up in Kressbronn on Lake Constance. After studying in Lucerne and various engagements in southern Germany, he is playing in the Landespolizeiorchester Rheinland-Pfalz since 2019. In the end of 2020, Klemens was able to win the “New Years Concert Competition” in Vienna and will make his debut there in 2021 with the Stadtorchester Wien.

Ekaterine Kintsurashvili has been working as a répétiteur at the Frankfurt University of Music since 2012 and is a lecturer at the Peter Cornelius Conservatory in Mainz. The Georgian-born pianist has performed as a soloist with the Georgian State Symphony and Chamber Orchestra and has participated in CD and radio recordings for the Hessian Radio. In addition, she played solo and chamber music evenings in the Frankfurt Opera, the Stuttgart Opera and the Mozart Halls in Hamburg.

In their actual program the Duo Newphonium will play not only contemporary original compositions for their line-up but also baroque classics and romantic works for other instruments and look forward to delighting you with fast-paced rhythms and versatile virtuoso sounds on an unusual classical concert evening.
